New headquarters for the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation located at 625 Broadway in downtown Albany, New York. A fifteen story, $62.5 million dollar, 500,000 GSF commercial office building conceived as part of Governor Pataki’s “Capitalize Albany” master plan. The Design Team worked closely with state and city planning officials to realize their dream of relocating state employees back downtown to help economically revitalize Albany’s urban core. As the largest urban infill redevelopment to occur in Albany since the conception of Empire Plaza, 625 Broadway has breathed new life into the city’s North End.

Working with the United States Green Building Council the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation Headquarters became the very first LEED certified “green” building in New York State*
