Fourth Lake Summer House Lake Luzerne, NY

Located in the picturesque Adirondack town of Lake Luzerne, NY, the owners asked Phinney Design Group to conceive a new house that would allow them to comfortably host summer guests and work remotely in a serene office environment overlooking their tranquil lakefront property. They had previously worked with two other firms that had not been able to obtain approval from town, county, and state regulatory agencies without requiring multiple variances, due to the rocky terrain and zoning of an existing cottage on the property.

The exterior mimics the Adirondack surroundings in a clean, refined way with the use of natural cedar wood siding and Douglas fir timbers, allowing the owners to take full advantage of the lake views by creating a basement-to-mezzanine wall of windows.
