Influenced by European bakery characteristics at the turn of the twentieth century, Bountiful Bread, is a contemporary blend of the new with the old. Located in Stuyvesant Plaza in Albany, New York, Bountiful Bread was a fast track renovation project, in which all of the original dining room finish materials were removed down to the concrete floor slab and structural walls for overall refinishing. Phinney Design Group worked with the client from schematic design through the final construction documents, in order to achieve a grand reopening that met their aesthetic goals, as well as, a tight one month construction schedule. The owners of Bountiful Bread desired an updated interior with an improved queue line, which would focus on brand identity and a farm-to-table approach.
Aimed at a more modern and organic style, some characteristics and materials integrated into the design include custom red oak built-in cabinetry and banquette, wood-look ceramic floor and wall tile; custom stainless steel bread rack, recycling centers and merchandise shelving; as well as a redesigned storefront, vestibule, and exterior color scheme. Contrasting energizing hues with soft, pickled wood introduces guests to an interesting and inviting space showcasing the quality and artisanship of the baked goods made on site.
