Phinney Design Group’s Interior Design team recently completed a refresh of the lobby at The Queensbury Hotel in Glens Falls, New York, bringing new warmth, comfort, and sophistication to one of the region’s most recognizable historic hotels.
The project focused on enhancing the guest experience while respecting the established character and architecture of The Queensbury. Rather than reinventing the lobby, PDG approached the renovation as an opportunity to thoughtfully build upon the qualities that have made the space a welcoming gathering place for generations.
A key component of the refresh was the selection of new furniture throughout the lobby. PDG’s Interior Design team developed a coordinated collection of seating, tables, fabrics, and finishes that introduces a refined mix of textures and patterns while creating more comfortable and inviting areas for guests to gather, relax, and socialize.
Furniture groupings were carefully considered to give the expansive lobby a more intimate feel, creating distinct areas for conversation while maintaining an open connection across the space. New accessories and decorative elements provide additional layers of warmth and personality, complementing the hotel’s historic details without competing with them.
The result is a refreshed interior that feels polished yet approachable—balancing the elegance of a historic hotel with the comfort and functionality expected by today’s guests.
For PDG’s Interior Design team, the project demonstrates how thoughtful interior updates can transform the experience of an existing space while remaining respectful of its history and identity.
We’re proud to continue contributing to The Queensbury Hotel and to help enhance a landmark that remains an important part of downtown Glens Falls and the greater Adirondack region.
