The Phinney Design Group, a local firm which provides architecture, interior design, green building consulting and construction management services, announced it received a Citation Award by the American Institute of Architects of Eastern New York (AIAENY) for its work on The Coat Room, an upscale speakeasy lounge in Saratoga Springs.
The Citation Award recognizes projects that demonstrate exceptional design, sustainability and social impact. The Coat Room stood out for its implementation of historical elements with modern expectations, appealing to contemporary patrons while celebrating the past. The firm also successfully incorporated energy-efficient features such as reclaimed materials, energy-efficient lighting and a fossil fuel-less kitchen.
