Groundbreaking Ceremony at Tech Meadows

Please join Glens Falls Mayor Jack Diamond, the Glens Falls Economic Development Group and Members of the Local Union 773 Plumbers and Steamfitters at the inaugural Tech Meadows Local 773 Training Center Ground Breaking Ceremony for construction of the new regional, state-of-the art job training facility, designed by Phinney Design Group of Saratoga Springs. This is the first building to be built at the Tech Meadows Campus – a 40 acre manufacturing and industrial park in Queensbury, NY.

This new, 18,000 square foot building will serve as a high tech training center, housing administrative offices, meeting space, classrooms, a welding instruction shop with a loading dock, and a special ‘clean room’ training space. This new clean room training center will provide training for a variety of construction skills, preparing a skilled regional workforce in emerging technologies to ultimately fill jobs at new high tech companies coming to the area – including those needed at the Global Foundries chip fab plant in Malta. To further the notion of emerging green technologies, Phinney Design Group designed a fully sustainable and energy efficient building according to LEED guidelines, sensibly incorporating green building technologies such as solar thermal, high efficiency HVAC and MEP systems, local and regional materials, highly durable, low-maintenance materials. Anticipated completion for this single story building is March 2013.
